GOLF DU CHAMP DE BATAILLE - Golfers Ratings

  07-25-2008 - Luc Moeyersons (Belgium Hcp 11,9)

Although I had difficulty to make reservation via internet (three mails without reply), the welcoming was excellent. What struck me when I played the course is the tranquility. The many solitary fairways and the lack of other golfers added to this feeling. This treelined course is in very good shape and challenging. Well worth a visit.

Superb! People told me how good it was before I went, and I wasn't disapointed - nor will you!!Every hole is a delight. Just a superb golf course with a friendly welcome. We stayed in the gite, advertised on their web site, and Madame Sophie at the club speaks excellent english and took us to a love French retuarant. Have a wonderful time.

Beautiful course - great lay-out and top-class condition. Friendly welcome also a big plus point - the hospitality included a free nip of brandy to ease a playing partner's toothache!

10-06-2004 - Jon Allen (Guildford, Surrey Hcp 21)

Played Sept'04. What a course, through woodland. Very testing and you need to be accurate off the tee . 2 new holes have replaced the holes by the castle, and they are very well designed and will be very pictureque in Spring , with planted flowers etc. Played 4 courses in the week. This was best one.

Rating: 9.5/10   (Welcoming:9/10  Course:10/10  Facilities:9/10  Value/Money:10/10)

Quite simply a must for any standard of golfer.Played the course on nomerous occasions and it NEVER fails to deliver.Stunning greens, matched by the surroundings.Plenty of ammo needed if a little wayward.Clubhouse hospitality is excellent too.Dont take my word for it go and play and you'll be hooked.

7 trips to France to play golf and this is the course we keep comming back to. Its a MUST play. Always in superb condition with fast, testing greens and some superbly lanscaped holes which leave you on the tee thinking "do I go for it or play safe?" After some great golf try the food!

Rating: 8.2/10   (Welcoming:8/10  Course:9/10  Facilities:8/10  Value/Money:8/10)

  10-01-2002 - Chris Holt (British Hcp 13)

Reputedly the best inland course in Normandy and few would doubt it. Shortish but generally very tight (thanks to forest and / or water) and a challenge for all handicaps. Anyone with an erratic long game could be in for an expensive afternoon ball-wise. Difficult to think of any genuinely poor holes. Par 3s are short, and the 15th (over a ravine) stands out. Par 4s a test of driving accuracy, generally leaving mid-short irons into the consistently excellent greens (holding but fast). Par5s not long but very tight. All holes different & picturesque. Overall - a reminder of why you play golf, a good challenge in beautiful surroundings.

Rating: 8.2/10   (Welcoming:8/10  Course:9/10  Facilities:8/10  Value/Money:8/10)

  09-20-2002 - Tony Bale (England Hcp 20)

Tight Course in Pine Forest. Delight to play and will challenge most handicaps. Superb greens that are very difficult. Par 3 (somwhere on course) over deep ravine - one of best holes Disapointing 18th hole in grounds of Chateaux

Rating: 8.7/10   (Welcoming:8/10  Course:9/10  Facilities:9/10  Value/Money:9/10)
